WWOOFing & Work Exchange

SPARKROOT FARM offers work exchange opportunities.

Sparkroot is an education farm and village-making school. We are looking for creative, and passionate people to come and be a part of our community! This is great opportunity to be a part of the early stages of this energetic hub.

Our farming techniques are heavily influenced by Permaculture principles. On our 2 acre plot; we pasture raise milk goats, chickens, pigs and keep bees. We are establishing a large market garden and practice no-till agriculture.

We're located on nine acres of North Carolina’s Piedmont, near the small town of Pittsboro, a hub of sustainability and local economy; just a short drive away from the college town of Carrboro, Raleigh and Chapel Hill you’ll find an incredible local foods and music scene.

The house sits atop a hill surrounded by a grove of ancient grandmother oaks, nestled into 150 acres of shared woods with access to square miles of trails.

Tenting spots are plentiful in our woodland, we have two airstreams and a bell tent, with access to the farmhouse community gathering and teaching space, shared kitchen, wifi, laundry and shower facilities. We have a composting/sawdust outhouse we prefer to be used outdoors.
